ECAD Librarian and PCB Designer with Security Clearance Job at The Computer Merc

Overview

ECAD Librarian and PCB Designer position located in McLeansville, NC. Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening to support CCA development for electronics used in high reliability undersea communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Support CCA development for electronics used in high reliability undersea communication systems as an ECAD Librarian and PCB Designer for Undersea Systems.
• Work with Mentor Graphics Xpedition and related ECAD/PCB layout design processes.
• Perform library management duties and manage Xpedition parts request systems and related processes.
• Capture and maintain documentation including bill of materials (BOM), ODB digital fabrication packages, and 3D model generation.
• Prototype circuits and perform circuit design tasks as required; communicate with suppliers to clarify design documentation packages.
• Ensure compliance with IPC and manufacturing standards; maintain knowledge of CCA fabrication techniques.
• Assist with schematic capture in Xpedition when needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent required, plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of one or more PCB design tools from the Mentor Graphics suite (Xpedition, xDM, DXdatabook, BoardStation, Hyperlynx) or Altium.
• Experience with library management practices including Xpedition parts request system, Footprint Expert Enterprise 23, 3D model creation using Solidworks NX or CREO, and Hyperlynx.
• Circuit design and hands-on prototyping experience.
• Basic knowledge of IPC and manufacturing standards; in-depth knowledge of CCA fabrication techniques; ability to communicate with suppliers on design documentation.
• Experience with schematic capture in Xpedition is valuable.

Clearance

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred or obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

While an hourly range is posted, the eventual rate is determined by salary analysis considering factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience, and market considerations.
