Overview
The International Ocean Film Festival (IOFF) is the first and largest film festival focused on the ocean in the world. As a year-round ocean conservation organization, IOFF produces a multi-day in-person event and related programs to promote awareness and action for ocean health. Film programs include award-winning independent films, on-stage discussions with filmmakers and content experts, and a forum on environmental, social, and cultural importance of ocean ecosystems, habitats, and resources. IOFF's five main education initiatives fulfill its mission:

- Free Student Ocean Film Field Trips
- International Traveling Program
- Annual Ocean Film Festival

Role
Social Media Manager
Responsibilities
- Build and manage IOFF’s social media profiles (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) and additional channels as needed; ensure content is up-to-date and regularly updated
- Create and publish original content that follows brand guidelines and obtain approval from Festival Operations Manager
- Provide recommendations on social media content optimization
- Run targeted ad campaigns and social promotions and track their results
- Serve as the main person posting social media content on a weekly or as-needed basis
- Collaborate with Festival Operations Manager to design social media strategies for IOFF events, festivals, and ocean-related topics
- Communicate with community partners on upcoming events and cross-promotional opportunities
- Stay up to date with social media best practices and new digital technologies
Qualifications
- Experience as a social media strategist/manager
- Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Experience creating original graphics
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to identify target audiences and publish related content
- Experience and passion for working with nonprofit organizations
- Interest in protecting oceans and willingness to learn about key issues affecting ocean health
