Report local news, including newscast spots, feature stories and live interviews aired during daily programming on KUT News and published on our digital platforms. Generates ideas, research topics, writes, reports, mixes stories and posts to the web. Ensures that all content produced meets KUT standards of accuracy, fairness, and balance. Develop deep knowledge of a designated beat. Plan collaboratively with editors to identify story lines on that beat to follow. Develop and maintain contacts on designated beat. Report news for state and national programming as appropriate; participate in newsroom editorial and planning meetings; participate in group editing sessions; provide editing for broadcast and digital stories as assigned. Participate in on-air fundraising and make special public appearances as assigned; serve as on-call talent for special coverage during emergencies. This could include going on live KUT broadcasts during breaking news. Other duties as assigned.
