Plush (www.plush.shop) is an AI-powered fashion search engine and shopping assistant that lets you describe what you want in your own words—and instantly get curated, shoppable answers on what to wear, how to style it, and where to buy it. Think of it as talking to a stylist who truly gets you, like “a romantic dress for a beach wedding in Ibiza” or “a blazer with The Row vibes but under $700”.

We’re a fast-growing, VC-backed startup reshaping how people discover fashion online. Our founding team includes former DoorDash and Airbnb product leaders, data scientists and engineers, who are also fashion influencers and photographers. Plush launched in 2024 and has already gained meaningful traction, with tens of thousands of high-intent users and strong early revenue traction.

The Role

We’re looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Lead (Strategist & Creator) who lives and breathes fashion, culture, and storytelling. This is a hybrid role: you’ll set Plush’s social strategy and bring it to life with hands-on content creation.

You’ll own Plush’s presence across TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms—crafting content that’s both scroll-stopping and community-building. As one of our early team members, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the voice, aesthetic, and growth trajectory of Plush’s brand from the ground up.

This is a part-time contractor position.

What You’ll Do

  • Content Strategy & Planning: Build and manage a social content calendar that aligns with Plush’s brand goals and product launches.
  • Hands-On Content Creation: Shoot, edit, and publish original short-form videos (TikTok/Reels) and visuals.
  • Community Engagement: Respond to comments, DMs, and trends in real-time to create a loyal and active community.
  • Campaigns & Growth: Launch organic campaigns that increase brand visibility and drive user growth—especially with fashion-forward Gen Z and Millennial women.
  • Collaborations: Identify and work with creators, influencers, and micro-partners to expand reach.
  • Analytics & Insights: Track performance metrics and optimize content strategy based on what resonates most.
  • Trend Spotting: Stay ahead of what’s happening in fashion and social to ensure Plush remains fresh, relevant, and talked-about.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 2–3 years of experience managing social media for a consumer brand, ideally in fashion, beauty, or lifestyle, with a proven track record of growing and engaging a social audience.
  • Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram—from algorithm mechanics to storytelling formats.
  • On-camera confidence and a natural ability to connect with audiences.
  • Skilled in short-form video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, InShot) and basic graphic design.
  • Excellent graphic design skills.
  • Excellent communication and copywriting skills; you know how to write like a human, not a brand.
  • Must be able to work within U.S. time zones (remote-friendly within that constraint).
