The team collaborates across departments to build solutions that serve Marketing, Customer Engagement, Medical Affairs, Public Affairs & Access, and other patient- and customer-facing teams. The team’s accountability includes defining omnichannel solutions, shaping engagement strategies, and ensuring seamless, compliant experiences for patients and customers.
Job Summary
The Director, Experience Design, will drive strategy and delivery within the Customer Experience (CX) Suite. They will ensure UX/UI and CX design strategies accelerate organizational progress towards delivering excellent customer experiences and business impact. This role involves building out the UX/UI design team, capabilities, and coordinating with product teams to embed UX/UI expertise in digital product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape digital experience design vision and standards based on industry trends and strategic priorities.
- Align experience design initiatives with senior stakeholder priorities and technical capabilities.
- Develop business cases for new product innovations and features.
- Define target users, understand user research, prioritize features, and set performance objectives.
- Oversee the experience design product lifecycle, roadmap, and delivery milestones.
- Communicate the value of UX/UI and CX Design to stakeholders and leadership.
- Manage stakeholder priorities, resolve conflicts, and ensure alignment on product roadmaps.
- Collaborate with analytics and technical teams to ensure product value and performance.
- Partner with other product owners and global teams to share learnings and align initiatives.
- Define business requirements and manage feedback for continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships effectively.
People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Experience Design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
- Provide training, guidance, and career development for team members.
- Allocate resources effectively to optimize team performance and impact.
- Promote an inclusive, performance-driven environment with regular reviews and recognition.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or related fields.
- 8 years of experience, including 7 in product management or digital operations.
- Experience managing full product lifecycle and driving impact.
- Strong skills in budget, resource, and stakeholder management.
- Leadership experience in coaching and developing teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence.
- Experience with agile methodologies and regulatory standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MBA or similar).
- Experience in healthcare or regulated industries.
- Proven success in managing complex projects.
- Knowledge of workflow tools, automation, and compliance frameworks.
Location
- South San Francisco, CA. No relocation assistance available.
Salary range: $176,750 - $328,250, based on experience and other factors. Benefits included.
