JCCGCI provides a wide spectrum of social services including older adult, vocational, educational, mental health, anti-violence, and community revitalization programs across New York City. We serve diverse populations—frail elderly, vocationally disadvantaged individuals, underprivileged immigrants, and educationally at-risk youth—helping them overcome challenges and achieve independence with dignity. Our programs are funded through government as well as private foundation grant funding,.


JCCGCI is seeking an experienced Grant Writer with proven grant writing experience to support the development of high-quality grant proposals and reports. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing funding from government agencies, foundations, and corporations, and will translate program goals into compelling narratives that align with funder priorities. This role is essential to sustaining and expanding the impact of JCCGCI’s community-based programs.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify prospective government, foundation, and corporate funding opportunities.
  • Write, edit, and submit persuasive proposals, LOIs, and grant applications that clearly communicate organizational impact.
  • Partner with program staff to gather outcomes, data, and client success stories to strengthen applications.
  • Collaborate with fiscal staff to prepare accurate grant budgets and ensure compliance with funding guidelines.
  • Manage a comprehensive grants calendar, ensuring all deadlines for submissions and reporting are met.
  • Draft and submit timely interim and final reports to funders.
  • Maintain accurate records of proposals, submissions, and awards.
  • Build and sustain relationships with funders through communication, site visits, and meetings.
  • Support the development team in overall fundraising strategy and donor engagement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of successful grant writing experience in the nonprofit sector (government, foundation, and corporate funding).
  • Demonstrated track record of securing six-figure and/or multi-year grants.
  • Strong ability to synthesize complex program information into clear, compelling proposals.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit budgeting and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with donor databases is a plus.

 

Full time or part-time. Full time annual salary $75,000-$95,000.
