A Brief Overview:

The Consumer Collector calls customers with delinquent accounts and attempts to secure payment or obtain loss mitigation (workout) agreements or secure the asset via Voluntary Repossession or Deposit.

Work Schedule

  • Tuesday to Thursday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Saturday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Sunday and Monday - No Scheduled

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Emails/letters to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts.
  • Contacts with customers by telephone to determine reasons for overdue payment, reviewing terms of sales, service, or credit contract with customer.
  • Direct contacts with delinquent account customers.
  • Records information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts.
  • Orders repossession or recommends placement to the field, agency or attorney.
  • Receives payments and posts amount paid to customer account.
  • Reviews account for possible loss mitigation options, offers the possibility to the client, and refers the client to the Loss Mitigation Workout Unit.
  • Skips traces customer to new address by inquiring at post office, questioning references/neighbors or via any leads that may come up via the credit bureaus or other creditors.
  • Attempts to repossess merchandise, such as automobile, furniture, and appliances when customer fails to make payment.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree and no experience or high school diploma and one to two years of relevant experience.

  • Computer literate (Word, Excel)
  • Good verbal and written communication in both English and Spanish.
