Elbow Room is a community art studio and gallery in SE Portland focused on providing material support, mentorship, and meaningful exhibition and collaboration opportunities for artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In our work, we center the individual interests, needs, and goals of the artists we support, and maintain an inclusive space for artists to develop a practice and participate in a shared creative community. For three months in the Fall, Elbow Room will utilize the back space of the Hoffman Gallery as a satellite studio and a site to develop Dialtones, a collaborative audio project featuring contributions from a wide range of Elbow Room artists.
