About the Role
As a Technical Writer at NetFoundry, you will collaborate with engineers and DevOps teams to produce clear, concise, and accurate documentation. You will create and maintain developer guides, API docs, technical tutorials, and system architecture documentation to support our growing customer base and partner ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and maintain user guides, API documentation, SDK documentation, architecture diagrams, and deployment guides.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and validate technical information.
- Translate complex technical concepts into simple, user-friendly content tailored to developers, DevOps, and enterprise IT professionals.
- Maintain and improve documentation version control, structure, and usability.
- Contribute to onboarding materials, use case examples, and product release notes.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across all technical documents in line with NetFoundry’s voice and brand.
- Conduct content audits and propose improvements to documentation structure and accessibility.
- Work with UX, engineering, and support teams to identify documentation gaps and user pain points.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer in a software, networking, or cloud infrastructure environment.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (e.g., Zero Trust, SD-WAN, VPN, TLS, DNS, edge computing).
- Experience documenting RESTful APIs, SDKs, and command-line tools.
- Familiarity with Markdown, Git, Swagger/OpenAPI, and documentation generators (e.g., Docusaurus, Hugo, MkDocs).
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to grasp complex technical concepts quickly and communicate them clearly.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, DevOps practices, or cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects or developer-focused documentation.
- Ability to create visual aids like flowcharts, network diagrams, and architecture schematics (e.g., using Lucidchart, draw.io, or similar tools).
Environment and Location
We are fully remote and always have been! You will work in a fast-paced, high-performance startup environment as part of a globally distributed team. In-person client meetings and occasional travel are a requirement.
