The Director of Content will drive content strategy and operations across Data Center World events and AFCOM, our premier professional association serving individuals and organizations in the data center industry since 1980. This hybrid role is open to candidates in any Informa office location and is based at the Shawnee, KS office location when on-site. Responsibilities
Conference Program Development and Management Create comprehensive agendas for Data Center World and Data Center World POWER conferences Develop compelling themes, tracks, and core topics addressing industry challenges including power sourcing, sustainability, and AI-driven infrastructure Recruit and manage high-caliber speakers Manage conference advisory boards — composed of key stakeholders and industry leaders — to provide insights, guidance, and support for organizational initiatives Support all program elements during events Global Expansion Partner with the Event Director and leadership team to strategically expand Data Center World's international footprint Identify emerging markets and opportunities for growth AFCOM Leadership (in collaboration with the Association Manager) Drive membership growth and chapter expansion Implement organizational efficiencies Produce engaging content that advances the careers of data center and IT infrastructure professionals Support AFCOM's mission of serving professionals who design, build, operate, and manage data centers Manage team including contractors Industry and End-User Relationships Collaborate with Event Director to cultivate partnerships with industry groups and end-user audiences to deepen engagement, foster collaboration, and ensure alignment with their needs and priorities Represent the brand at industry events and functions Build relationships with key technology providers and solution partners Research and Thought Leadership Coordinate and oversee development of the annual State of the Data Center research Identify emerging trends and disruptive technologies affecting the industry Cross-Functional Collaboration Support the sales team with strategic account acquisition Advise marketing on positioning events to the full professional ecosystem Develop compelling content strategies aimed at audience development and lead generation, leveraging data-driven approaches to maximize reach and impact Collaborate with a strategic PR agency to design and execute earned media strategies that amplify brand visibility, enhance reputation, and drive audience engagement Work with digital teams to optimize content delivery across multiple channels Qualifications
Deep knowledge of the data center industry (Ideal) or technology sector with understanding of key trends, players, growth sectors, and emerging segments Strong stakeholder management experience Proven experience developing conference/event content - both strategically and operationally Strong project management skills with ability to meet deadlines and optimize processes Demonstrated experience creating diverse content formats (articles, blogs, video interviews, research reports) Commercially-minded leader with direct experience supporting revenue-driving activities Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Confident with public speaking and able to serve as a key face of the brand (Ideal) Effective leadership skills to build an inclusive team culture and drive excitement Established industry connections to facilitate speaker recruitment and partnership development (Ideal) Additional Information
The pay range for this position is $120,000.00 - 140,000.00, depending on experience. This role will expire on Oct 31st 2025. We believe that great things happen when people connect face-to-face. This role is hybrid with in-person collaboration at times; when not in a office or at an Informa event, there is flexibility to work from home or remotely.
