As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you’ll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and pick up open shifts based on your availability—giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. This role is part of Allied Universal’s Access Control team at a leading technology and telecommunications location, helping to maintain a secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets. You will monitor entry points, verify identification and credentials, and manage badge access. You will remain highly visible at assigned posts, conduct regular access checks, and provide outstanding customer service. This role is ideal for individuals who are attentive, enjoy interacting with people, and are comfortable using computers or tablets to support access control processes. What You’ll Do

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies at the location Monitor and control access points to deter unauthorized entry Respond to incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and perimeter Maintain detailed records of activities and incidents as required by site procedures Assist visitors and employees with access control procedures and inquiries Support emergency response activities as needed, coordinating with management and local authorities

What We’re Looking For

Availability across various days and shifts Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience Comfortable using a computer or tablet Access control and/or badge experience preferred CPR and/or First Aid certification preferred Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles High school diploma or equivalent Background check as required by law; Allied Universal considers qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws Drug screen required where permitted by law Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only
