Job Title: Mechanical DesignerPosition Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality design documents using AutoCAD and other design tools, based on sketches, marked-up drawings, and vendor specifications. You will contribute to the development of pre-design structural unitized systems and support the D&I Process by leveraging reference materials from previous projects.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to established AutoCAD standards, drawing formats, and design details.

Create design documents from sketches, redlines, and vendor-provided information.

Develop pre-design structural unitized systems using historical project data.

Operate office equipment including plotters and document copiers.

Maintain drawing files and compile bidding documentation.

Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings and related documents.

Review and check non-complex drawings created by other designers.

Travel domestically and internationally up to 10% annually.

Foster collaborative relationships across company locations.

Comply with all safety protocols and company policies.

Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or related field.

Minimum of 6 years of drafting/design experience preferred.

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.

Experience with 3D design tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, and/or SolidWorks.

Ability to translate engineering notes and sketches into detailed design documents.

Willingness to travel to the fabrication facility in Red Bud, IL as needed.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows-based applications.

Work Environment

This position is based in a professional engineering office setting. It involves working with various office equipment and may require occasional travel. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays, is expected.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
