We are looking for a Web Platform Developer to join our team at Student Life Technology Solutions. Your role is integral to bringing Student Life websites to life, working with a focus on supporting development and administration needs, enhancing the student experience through web platforms and related applications. You will implement, integrate, and manage websites and content management systems in cloud-based environments like U-M Pantheon using WordPress Multisite deployments. Your role also involves developing, integrating, and troubleshooting connected APIs, building user-friendly websites, and applications tailored to connect and integrate data from cloud and on-premise enterprise systems. You will assist our business unit partners in implementing solutions that leverage shared services, on-premise, or vendor-hosted systems, seeking opportunities to improve processes, websites, and integrations. Your work will enhance our approach to web design and development, and is an opportunity to be part of a ground-up development and redesign of a divisional level web design system and online presence. You will report directly to the Web Platform Administrator.
Work location is mostly remote with occasional onsite presence required.

Responsibilities*
55% - Web Design Implementation
- Translate wireframes and designs into high-quality code.
- Integrate content by leveraging interfaces, APIs, and data sources.
- Contribute to designing and implementing visually appealing and user-friendly web designs and interfaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative web solutions.
- Test and develop appropriate solutions to meet Web Accessibility Standards.
20% - Web Platform Development
- Develop and maintain cloud-based websites, web applications, and infrastructure using interfaces, APIs, and data sources.
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
15 % - Web Platform Administration
- Monitor and optimize the performance of cloud-based web hosting solutions.
- Perform regular security assessments and implement measures to protect sensitive data.
- Triage, investigate, and resolve requests related to website or web application issues, break/fix items, or other varying issues that arise from the units we serve.
10% - Outreach and Professional Development
- Be an ambassador for TechSolutions, identifying opportunities for innovation and providing general technology assistance.
- Engage in professional development activities to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (e.g., internships, coursework, or projects).
- 2+ years of experience in web design, implementation or development.
- Experience developing in or for the WordPress or other CMS platform.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
