What you need to know

  • TTI is a Texas based agency. This position has the flexibility of a hybrid remote option with two days in a TTI Texas based office although the preferred location for this position is the TTI Headquarters located in Bryan, TX. This can be discussed further during the interview process.

  • The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant\'s qualifications and experience.

Job Summary

The Web Designer I, under general supervision, is responsible for the design and maintenance of websites, ensuring they are visually appealing, user-friendly, and aligned with branding and strategic objectives. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including researchers, developers, and sponsors, to deliver high-quality web experiences, tools, and visualizations that engage users and effectively communicate the purpose of the web asset. Continued employment is dependent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype user interfaces for web applications, tools, dashboards using tools like Figma, Moqups, etc. (20%)

  • Develop design templates and style guides to maintain uniformity in web assets. (5%)

  • Ensure all web designs adhere to accessibility standards (Section 508 compliance) through proper design and accessibility audits, and collaborate with developers to implement necessary adjustments. (25%)

  • Ensure websites, tools, and visualizations meet the sponsor’s guidelines and standards. (10%)

  • Collaborates with staff for website content and determines needs and assesses priorities. (20%)

  • Regularly review and update websites to ensure content is current and relevant, addressing any issues that may arise. (5%)

  • Assists in creating user guides, promotional materials, presentations, and other documents related to the sites, tools, dashboards, and visualizations. (10%)

  • Monitor website performance and user feedback, making iterative improvements based on analytics and user behavior. (4%)

  • Performs other duties as assigned. (1%)

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two years of related experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of computers and computer software related to the position.

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of 508 compliance and accessibility standards

Expertise with tools like Figma, Moqup, etc.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently communicate with other individuals within the workplace.

  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery.
