Your Tasks
This role will be responsible for building and leading the marketing function to support the successful launch and long-term commercialization of the company’s first CAR T-cell therapy. This individual will develop and execute the marketing strategy for this therapy, oversee brand positioning, drive market penetration, and establish a high-performing team. As a key member of the US Biomedicine leadership team, this position will contribute to the development and execution of commercial, operational, and launch plans, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall strategic objectives. This role will be both strategic and hands-on, requiring deep expertise in oncology, market dynamics, digital and tactical marketing, and customer engagement. The individual will build and develop the marketing organization, structure, and capabilities, ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration with sales, market access, medical affairs, analytics, R&D, regulatory, finance, and other key functions. Beyond launch, this leader will be responsible for optimizing marketing strategies and driving brand performance to achieve continued growth and success. This position will report to the Chief Officer, North America Biomedicine. Responsibilities
Brand Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute the marketing strategy to maximize market potential and ensure commercial success, aligning with broader corporate objectives. Lead the creation of annual brand plans with clear success metrics, budget requirements, and tactical execution. Lead product positioning, messaging, and market segmentation to drive customer engagement and revenue growth. Oversee digital and tactical marketing initiatives, including HCP and patient engagement strategies and scientific conference programs. Define KPIs and use market insights to refine and optimize marketing tactics for maximum impact. Marketing Materials & Campaigns: Oversee the creation and deployment of HCP promotional materials and campaigns across channels; develop a digital media strategy to engage HCPs and patients/caregivers. Agency & Partner Management: Manage advertising agencies, establish success metrics, and ensure compliance with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory guidelines. Foster cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Account Management, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, etc. Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Serve on the Commercial Leadership Team and partner with sales, market access, medical affairs, and R&D; collaborate with analytics and finance for data-driven decision-making. Customer & Market Insights: Leverage oncology, hematology, transplant, or cell therapy expertise to inform go-to-market strategy; develop customer engagement strategies. Communications & Training: Lead external communications strategies and develop training programs for commercial and field teams. Compliance & Operational Excellence: Ensure marketing activities comply with policies and regulatory standards; manage the marketing budget. Team Leadership & Organizational Development: Build and develop a high-performing marketing team; provide coaching and ensure ongoing professional development. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred (MBA, MPH, PharmD, PhD). Minimum twelve (12) years in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, with at least eight (8) years in progressive pharmaceutical marketing leadership; combination of education and experience acceptable. Deep expertise in oncology, hematology, transplant, or cell therapy marketing preferred. Proven track record of leading operational readiness for launch, ideally in cell therapy, oncology, transplant, rare disease, or other complex therapies. Experience leading and building high-performing teams with strong people management and leadership skills. Strong understanding of HCP engagement, patient education, payer marketing, and sales training strategies. Experience with cross-functional teams (account management, market access, sales operations, sales training, insights/analytics, business development) is highly valued; existing relationships with KOLs and key account leadership are a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Collaborative leadership, data-driven decision-making, adaptable, excellent communication, startup mentality, executive presence, deep knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing regulations and compliance (FDA guidelines, OIG requirements).
