Industry: Insurance Job Title: Instructional Designer Duration: 12 Months Location: REMOTE Job Description This role is part of the Underwriting Learning & Development team and is focused on designing and delivering high-quality digital learning solutions. The position involves conducting in-depth needs assessments, partnering with subject matter experts, and developing eLearning and blended training programs to support both Personal and Commercial Lines underwriting teams. The role aims to enhance onboarding processes and upskill underwriting talent, leveraging modern instructional design practices and tools. Roles & responsibilities
Conduct job-task analyses and training needs assessments to identify learning objectives. Consult with stakeholders and team members to define training goals, program objectives, and module outcomes. Collaborate with subject matter experts and e-Learning specialists to design and develop instructional materials. Create eLearning programs using Articulate 360 and Camtasia, and apply adult learning principles to ensure learner engagement. Develop blended learning approaches, including classroom, virtual, self-paced modules, and job aids. Research, select, and adapt training curricula, content, and materials to meet specific learning needs. Measure training effectiveness using evaluations, participant feedback, and performance data, providing recommendations for improvement. Work closely with the manager, attending daily onboarding check-ins and later weekly alignment meetings. Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback, ensuring training effectiveness and alignment with business objectives. Manage end-to-end instructional design lifecycle, tracking projects through workflow and design tools. Must Have
Proficiency in Articulate 360 and Camtasia. Strong expertise in instructional design and adult learning principles. Proven experience creating digital instructional content and eLearning solutions independently. Ability to design and deliver blended learning solutions (online, ILT, job aids). Skilled in stakeholder engagement and conducting formal learning needs analyses. Ability to manage the full instructional design lifecycle from discovery to delivery. Nice to Have
Prior experience or knowledge of the insurance or financial services industries (particularly underwriting). Experience facilitating instructor-led training (ILT). Background in working within large organizations with branding standards and strict guidelines. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory training requirements. Exposure to performance tracking tools and evaluation strategies. EEO
