Overview
Principal UX Designer/Architect at AT&T. Location options: Dallas, Seattle, or Austin. No relocation assistance provided. This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is located in the posted location(s).
Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire a team of 5-10 professionals in product design, UX, and research; contribute to shaping the future of product design within a new discipline and organization reporting to the CPO.
- Design (and redesign) a diverse set of experiences and products for AT&T by combining design skills with leadership.
- Serve as the creative point-of-contact and project lead for UX design projects; collaborate with teammates and internal sponsors to guide activities, strategy, and timelines.
- Use storytelling, UX, and prototypes to convey vision, flow, and features.
- Collaborate with fellow UX designers, researchers, and other internal teams to generate ideas and gather feedback.
- Work with developers, project managers, and other internal teams to implement designs into production.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Lead, organize, and facilitate design workshops with clients and partners as needed.
- Mentor junior and senior UX designers.
Required Experience & Characteristics
- 7+ years of interaction/graphic design experience across various digital media (or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or equivalent preferred.
- Strong portfolio of design and UX work; track record of leading substantial design projects.
- Comfortable in an executive-facing role.
- Experience in concept ideation, design strategy, and digital prototyping; proficient with tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, Principle, Framer, etc.
- Knowledge or expertise in one or more of: visual design, machine learning, mobile/web applications, messaging interfaces, illustration, video/film production.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with collaborative drive; proactive, leadership, and teamwork to improve designs.
- Systems thinker with a product mindset; ability to create holistic, user-centered solutions.
- Empathetic, user-centered, and collaborative; strong storytelling and communication skills.
- Leadership and project management abilities; able to convey the value of work to partners and teams.

Compensation
Estimated salary range: $158,200.00 – $237,400.00. Final starting salary depends on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
