Job Title: Communications Center Specialist Location: Monroe, NC Schedule: PRN, hours as needed to cover shifts
Overview: Join the Security Operations Center (SOC) at Novant Health as a Communications Center Specialist. This role is central to ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff by managing high volumes of communication and dispatching Protective Services during both routine and emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:
Act as the central communication hub for the Security Operations Center
Dispatch Protective Services in response to calls and incidents
Monitor radio traffic and track real-time status updates
Respond to and document routine and emergency calls from team members, visitors, patients, and Public Safety personnel
Understand and apply Public Safety protocols, policies, and applications
Maintain thorough knowledge of all Novant Health facilities and Department of Public Safety (DPS) program
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Some College Courses, preferred.
Experience: Satisfactory experience as a Communications Technician, Emergency Telecommunications Specialist, Dispatcher, - Preferred Related experience will be considered.
Licensure/Certification: Crisis Prevention Institute Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Crisis Communications, or CIT within 1 year of hire; APCO Public Safety Tele-communicator I and RQI Responder certified within 6 months of hire, required.
Additional Skills (required): DPS, Security, law enforcement or military communications experience.
