Job Description
Brookfield Properties is excited to invite a Marketing Intern to join us for the summer at our Chicago office. The Marketing Intern will assist the marketing department with the key consumer and tenant facing programs. These may include brainstorming and activating digital campaigns, in-mall activations, updating websites, drafting press releases, social media monitoring, or summarizing trends.
Responsibilities
Assist the campaign team with the execution of applicable in-mall programs and national campaigns, including reviewing creative copy and assets.
Partner with channel team to optimize the channel strategy of the applicable campaigns to drive awareness of program and key messages.
Research and document peer and campaigns and activations strategies.
Support channel team with execution of B2B and B2C campaigns. Support may include, but not be limited to:
- Paid social planning and execution (budget recommendations, tactics, creative placements)
- SEM planning and execution (budget recommendations, keyword research & recommendations)
Ideate social media and employee advocacy content ideas for deployment across various platforms and multiple properties within Brookfield Properties' brand guidelines and parameters.
Track and incorporate solutions (when applicable) to address various SEO issues B2B & Leasing Support
Collaborate on the ideation and launch of Partner to Empower (PTE), an initiative focused on supporting business owners of color. Tasks include administrative tasks, researching industry trends, brainstorming advertising ideas, and identifying potential partners and outreach strategies to help business owners achieve success in brick-and-mortar retail.
Assess current PTE program to understand key drivers and barriers of application process and successful program participation.
Contribute to business-to-business, leasing, and revenue-generating programs by assisting with corporate communications, creative execution, email marketing, content creation, ad planning, quality assurance, and administrative tasks to drive engagement and support leasing goals.
Serve as a liaison on behalf of other cross-departmental interns, driving engagement for employee advocacy, company initiatives, and workplace culture events.
Qualifications
Education
Currently enrolled in a university program and must be a graduating Senior (Grad Date Dec 2026-May 2027)
Experience
At least one marketing class
Skills
Knowledge of marketing strategies, including continuing education of new marketing tactics and tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with a variety of social media platforms tools
Organization and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Characteristics
Self-starter able to execute tasks and take the lead on projects independently (when provided guidance)
Ability to quickly learn and process information
Ability to work with teams and collaborate
Ability to work with confidential materials and engender trust among key constituents
Detail-oriented, especially regarding validating clarity and accuracy of content
Compensation
Salary type: Non-Exempt
Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
Hourly Compensation: $22.50
