Job Description

The Manager, Content Acquisitions role will support the UTEG Acquisitions team as it licenses content for NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock and linear television networks NBC and Bravo. The role is responsible for identifying and evaluating content opportunities, helping negotiate content agreements, optimizing the performance of the portfolio, and managing relationships with both internal and external content suppliers. The ideal candidate is an analytical thinker who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to pivot at a moment's notice.

Responsibilities

  • Helping project manage content analyses and negotiations to ensure success throughout the deal lifecycle
  • Preparing offer templates and financial documents for content packages
  • Working closely with the Programming, Marketing, Content Operations, Finance, Strategy, and Legal teams to align on priorities, communicate deal terms, and implement agreements
  • Partnering with the Decision Sciences and other technology teams to develop content planning tools and reporting capabilities
  • Evaluating content performance to optimize the portfolio, informing future acquisitions and renewals
  • Identifying potential acquisitions via synopses, scripts, trailers, screeners, trade articles, and finished product
  • Screening series and films and providing feedback on potential fit for the portfolio
  • Preparing presentation materials for senior executives

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years of experience in acquisitions, distribution, content strategy or programming and/or experience in financial analysis or research at a major media company
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Experience with database management
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and consistently delivers high-quality work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, communicating with clarity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to become an integral part of the team
  • Passionate about television and film, and able to evaluate content through an objective and strategic lens

Desired Characteristics

  • Relationships with third-party studios and production companies is a plus

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Salary range: $85,000-95,000 (bonus eligible)
