Overview
Public Relations Spec, Sr – Lead Content Creator. Project ECHO has an opportunity for a writer/digital content creator to join the Communications and Marketing Team. The Lead Digital Content Creator will be responsible for creating multimedia content for Project ECHO to highlight the impact of our work in strategic areas. This role collaborates with stakeholders across the University of New Mexico, Project ECHO, and partners worldwide. Primary responsibilities include producing Project ECHO’s Annual Report and developing a regular cadence of stories and other content for diverse audiences.
Responsibilities
- Writing and developing all aspects of the Project ECHO Impact Report, including project management.
- Writing and creating multimedia content for external and internal audiences, including taking photographs and coordinating with freelance vendors to produce videos/photos.
- Maintaining a user-friendly database of photographs/images and our testimonial bank.
- Actively seeking story/content ideas from a variety of sources within our global network.
- Using interview techniques to create stories and content; incorporating stakeholder feedback and approvals.
- Using analytics to identify and optimize content creation.
- Using project management and data analytics skills to create a data-informed approach and relay accomplishments and challenges to internal stakeholders.
- Preparing summaries and presentations on impact for stakeholders.
- Working with partners worldwide with differing geographical and cultural backgrounds.
- Overseeing and contributing in a consulting capacity in a matrixed environment with teams across Project ECHO and the university.
- Elevating the Project ECHO brand through content creation and brand adherence.
- Overseeing work with vendors and stakeholders on producing written and multimedia content.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of related experience. Degrees above the minimum education requirement may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

- Experience with journalism
- Experience with project management
- Experience working with diverse, international stakeholders
- Experience working in a matrixed work environment
- Experience taking and editing photographs
- Experience working with content management systems
- Experience with SEO
