Job Summary

Position: Technical Media Producer at WSMV4 in Nashville. This person directs live or pre-recorded productions, monitors on-air signals, transmitter logs, EAS events, and ingests daily programming and commercials. Regular assignments include directing newscasts, operating equipment in master control, and other productions. A successful candidate will have strong communication and people skills and working knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

  • Direct live or pre-recorded productions as assigned
  • Monitor the station’s on-air signals, transmitter logs, EAS events, and ingest daily programming and commercials
  • Direct newscasts and operate equipment in master control
  • Operate Ross Overdrive production automation & operation
  • Operate Nversion Master Control automation
  • Utilize Chyron graphics
  • Learn new hardware and software as needed
  • Operate robotic cameras and care for equipment
  • Collaborate with all departments to meet daily demands
  • Grow by taking direction and contributing as a team
  • Communicate effectively with team members
  • Adapt to breaking news and developing stories
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule based on station needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Meet multiple deadlines and manage workload under pressure
  • Lead and make quick decisions based on directives
  • Multitask effectively in a rapidly changing environment
  • Demonstrate high-level written and verbal communication and judgment

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proficient in Windows-based applications
  • Experience in television operations
  • Dependable, well organized, able to multitask, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines
