Sr. Manager, AI-Enabled Content Strategy
Position Overview Zelis is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking content marketer to lead the development of enterprise-level thought leadership content that drives Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and brand awareness. This role is ideal for a content marketer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about storytelling, innovation, and impact. You will craft and execute a content strategy that supports Zelis’ goals, produce high-impact thought leadership assets in partnership with internal subject matter experts and external vendors, and contribute to how Zelis incorporates AI-enabled workflows into its content development process. You will be a steward of the Zelis brand voice and values and a champion of modern content creation, especially through AI-powered tools. The Expectations AEO content strategy: Define and implement a content strategy that improves visibility in answer engines (e.g., CoPilot, Google, ChatGPT), ensuring Zelis content is discoverable, authoritative and aligned with user intent. Thought leadership storyteller: Produce enterprise-level thought leadership content — white papers, blogs, reports, articles, and digital assets — leveraging AI tools, internal resources and external vendors. AI-augmented editorial judgment: Evaluate and refine AI-generated content for tone, accuracy and strategic alignment, knowing when human creativity must lead. Audience intelligence and personalization: Use behavioral insights, persona data and AI tools to tailor content to buying committees and customer journey stages. Omnichannel storytelling: Adapt content across formats and platforms using AI, including long-form, video and interactive experiences. Content operations and workflow design: Manage editorial calendars, governance frameworks, and scalable workflows that integrate internal and external contributors. Elevate key voices: Help ghostwrite narratives from subject matter experts that elevate Zelis’ leadership in the market. Strategic research and trendspotting: Identify emerging industry trends and translate research into compelling, forward-looking content. Performance optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional Marketing stakeholders to measure impact and refine content strategies based on data-driven insights. Ethical and inclusive storytelling: Ensure inclusive language, ethical sourcing, and diverse perspectives in all content. About You Exceptional writing ability: Demonstrated excellence in crafting clear, engaging, and persuasive content across formats. Sharing writing samples is a requirement. AI proficiency: Hands-on experience with AI content creation tools (e.g., Jasper, Writer, ChatGPT) and a strong understanding of their role in modern marketing. Emotional intelligence: Ability to build trust, navigate complex stakeholder relationships and lead with empathy. Growth mindset: Curiosity, resilience and a commitment to continuous learning and experimentation. Project management: Skilled at managing multiple projects with tight deadlines and cross-functional dependencies. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of experience, or Master’s degree plus 6 years of experience; public company experience is a plus. Industry Knowledge: Experience in healthcare and/or technology sectors preferred. Portfolio: A portfolio of work demonstrating thought leadership and storytelling capabilities is required. Location, Workplace Flexibility We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India.
