Job Title: Mechanical Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer skilled in Solidworks to contribute to both design and project management tasks. This role involves making strategic decisions on whether to outsource projects or retain them in-house, under the guidance of the Director of Engineering. The position focuses on the design, development, and analysis of both new and existing products, establishing processes, and formulating plans to achieve long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

Design and develop new and existing products using Solidworks.

Manage projects, deciding on outsourcing or in-house completion.

Establish processes and action plans to meet project goals.

Evaluate the future implications of current decisions and actions.

Collaborate with various departments to ensure cohesive project execution.

Work closely with customers from project initiation to completion.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in Solidworks.

Project management experience.

Excellent communication skills.

3 years of experience in a Solidworks-based design role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design or Engineering.

Experience in hydraulics or automotive sectors is a plus.

Work Environment

Join a dynamic engineering team of ten professionals, working under the guidance of the Director of Engineering. The environment involves strategic collaboration with project engineers and deciding on project management approaches. The team has recently incorporated outsourcing to India, and the role involves a mix of 50% design and 50% project management duties. Candidates will work closely with customers, handling custom designs and managing projects from start to finish.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.25/hr.
