Overview We are currently seeking a talented UX Researcher to join our team. As our UX Researcher, you'll be the voice of our users, focusing on the US market. You'll dive deep into understanding the diverse world of American angling—from the bass fishing culture of Florida to the salmon runs of the Pacific Northwest. You'll work closely with our Product Managers, Product Designers and Engineering teams on core app development, focusing on discovery research to understand user needs and usability of our product.
This is a full-time position and reports to our Product Director. You'll collaborate across our cross-functional product teams, often taking the lead on early-stage product discovery.
Lead end-to-end research projects that directly inform product strategy and business decisions
Conduct research studies using mixed methodologies: usability testing, user interviews, surveys, diary studies, and other tools of your craft
Research the diverse angling cultures across US regions to inform localized features and content
Partner closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineering teams on core app development
Translate research findings into actionable recommendations that influence product roadmaps
Present research insights to stakeholders through compelling reports and presentations
Support a validation-first approach for new features, as well as conducting early-stage discovery research to help us prioritize our roadmaps
Identify and solve UX pain points in catch logging, content sharing, and user journey flows
Lead discovery workshops with the cross-functional development team and stakeholders to generate research hypotheses
Requirements Requirements :
Strong understanding and experience in user research principles, with both quantitative and qualitative methodologies
Deep understanding of consumer app research
Proven track record of research directly impacting product strategy and business outcomes
Mixed-methods expertise: usability testing, interviews, surveys, A/B testing, data analysis
Excellent stakeholder management skills and collaborative mindset
Strong analytical skills and experience with research tools (Lookback, Dovetail, Typeform)
US market knowledge and understanding of regional cultural differences
Excellent analytical and communication skills in English
Remote work experience with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
Experience Requirements 5+ years of UX research experience with both quantitative and qualitative methodologies
Experience working closely with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Engineering teams
Solid experience with analytics support tools and research platforms
Proven track record of conducting research that influences product decisions across various platforms (iOS, Android, web)
Bonus (Not Required) Outdoor recreation or fishing background
Product market research experience
Experience integrating AI tools into research workflows
Psychology, human-computer interaction, or related degree (or equivalent practical experience)
Ability to work with Amplitude and Tableau.
