The CAD Designer is responsible for the design and packaging of automotive interior trim products utilizing Catia V5 software. Responsibilities include facilitating changes and developments to CAD models using Catia V5 software, collaborating with product engineers, program managers, and engineering managers in the development of injection molded components and assemblies, designing B-side features including attachments, doghouses, standoffs, locators, etc., verifying and ensuring releases of models are correct, ensuring design meets all vehicle environment requirements, ensuring correct CAD data is being sent out as needed, verifying product design and checking for completeness and accuracy, preparing and following engineering change and data change requests, interfacing with internal departments to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner, and ensuring system requirements are met, including customer specifications and design rules.

Essential skills include 5-10+ years of experience as a Designer focused on plastic interior trim component part design and development, 5+ years of experience using Catia V5, in-depth knowledge of plastics and tooling design requirements, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, and good communication and organizational skills. Additional skills and qualifications include surfacing experience, experience with Volkswagen, and capability in 2D drawings/design.

This position is located in an office environment with walled cubicles on the 3rd floor of the corporate building. The design team consists of 10 designers, including 2 designer coordinators. The team is strong and experienced, with a main client being a major automotive company. The company offers growth opportunities and is engaged with new technologies, such as compression molding. The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
