Catia Designer
The CAD Designer is responsible for the design and packaging of automotive interior trim products utilizing Catia V5 software.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate changes and developments to CAD models using Catia V5 software.
- Collaborate with product engineers, program managers, and engineering managers in the development of injection molded components and assemblies.
- Design B-Side features including attachments, doghouses, standoffs, locators, etc.
- Verify and ensure releases of models are correct.
- Ensure design meets all vehicle environment requirements.
- Ensure correct CAD data is being sent out as needed.
- Verify product design and check for completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and follow engineering change and data change requests.
- Interface with internal departments to ensure design objectives are met in a timely manner.
- Ensure system requirements are met, including customer specifications and design rules.
Essential Skills:
- 5-10+ years of experience as a Designer focused on plastic interior trim component part design and development.
- 5+ years of experience using Catia V5.
- In-depth knowledge of plastics and tooling design requirements.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Surfacing experience.
- Experience with Volkswagen.
- Capability in 2D drawings/design.
Work Environment:
This position is located in an office environment with walled cubicles on the 3rd floor of the corporate building. The design team consists of 10 designers, including 2 designer coordinators. The team is strong and experienced, with a main client being a major automotive company. The company offers growth opportunities and is engaged with new technologies, such as compression molding.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
