We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Customs Entry Writer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing import documentation, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, and coordinating with clients, carriers, and government agencies to facilitate the timely clearance of shipments. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and submit accurate import documentation to U.S. Customs and other government agencies. Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) and determine duty rates. Review commercial invoices, packing lists, and other shipping documents for accuracy. Communicate with clients, carriers, and customs officials to resolve issues and ensure smooth cargo clearance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, trade compliance requirements, and industry best practices. Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and proper documentation flow. Maintain organized records of all entries and compliance-related documents. Assist clients with questions regarding customs regulations and provide guidance on compliance matters. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience in customs brokerage or entry writing. In-depth knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and import processes. Familiarity with ABI (Automated Broker Interface) software and other industry platforms. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
