Overview

A fully qualified Field Service Technician applies a broad working knowledge of electronics to a wide variety of assignments through the application of technical concepts, practices and procedures. The position is part of a customer support team and works on moderately complex AV and TV signal distribution systems. Methods of signal distribution include Coax Cable (RF), Ethernet (IPTV), Fiber Optic and Reception of TV via Over the air Broadcast and Satellite.

Responsibilities

• Provide varied maintenance, installation and repair duties for television signal transport systems, including device installation, setup, configuration and performance testing and documentation.
• Rack and stack systems at the Horsham, PA facility and perform services at customer sites.
• Travel up to 25-30% of time, which may include travel throughout the US and/or internationally.

Requirements

• Knowledge of low voltage wiring installations including pulling wire, terminating connections, troubleshooting problems, mounting and testing devices such as RF amplifiers, passive Cable TV distribution, Ethernet switches, RJ-45 jacks and fittings.
• Knowledge and experience with RF signal level meters, LAN Ethernet testers, volt-ohm meters is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude toward using hand tools (e.g., drills, saws, screwdrivers manual and electric) and other hand and power tools; strong work ethic with pride in clean, neat and organized work.
• Must pass Government and Military security clearances for work at secure locations; must possess a valid driver’s license and passport or obtain one within 10 weeks of hire.
• Willingness to travel up to 2-3 weeks at a time domestically and/or internationally; reliable transportation required.
• Physical ability to perform duties including reaching, carrying and lifting heavy equipment (up to 75 pounds), climbing ladders, and working on rooftops; regular commuting to field locations may be required using personal or company vehicles, trains, planes and rental vehicles.
