Senior Growth Editor — Mercury

Mercury’s Stories team is a small but mighty part of our Brand organization. We explore storytelling across blog posts, editorial series, tools, reports, video, and newsletters, and work with Design, Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Comms, Community, and others to bring that storytelling to life.

In this role, you will :

  • Help drive forward a focused editorial direction for Mercury’s blog, creating dynamic content that resonates with our founder audience and ladders up to growth and brand goals.
  • Partner with SEO and Growth Marketing to translate keyword opportunities and topic clusters into compelling, differentiated content ideas — and help bring them to life with freelancers or your own pen.
  • Write, edit, storyboard, and produce cornerstone content, especially in support of key campaigns, growth experiments, and thought leadership.
  • Maximize content distribution, partnering with Growth, Social, and Community teams to expand reach and performance.
  • Play a key role in special content projects, from founder-focused reports to early podcast and video content pilots.
  • Contribute to editorial operations with a strategic lens, helping evolve systems that make content development smarter and more scalable.
  • Surface performance insights, helping the team understand what’s working, why, and where to double down.

You have :

  • 8+ years of relevant experience — combined background in content, editorial, brand, and/or growth, ideally with startups/entrepreneurs/creators or financial services.
  • A strong track record of creating content that drives measurable business outcomes.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to make complex ideas accessible and engaging.
  • Experience with formats beyond the blog (video, podcasts, data storytelling, infographics, virtual events/webinars, email, social).
  • Experience working with and managing freelance contributors.
  • Strong familiarity with SEO, analytics, and the content funnel, and a willingness to experiment and optimize.
  • Comfort working in a remote-first, async-friendly environment with tools like Google Docs, Asana, and Slack.

Bonus points for :

  • Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy industries (e.g., fintech, finance, health).
  • Familiarity with legal/compliance review processes for marketing content.
  • A portfolio that showcases editorial sharpness, bold creativity, audience empathy, and measurable results.
