Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek an Ocular Oncology Ophthalmologist to join the Retina Division within the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience. Duties and Responsibilities

The Division Director and/or Department Chair determines work assignments. Each faculty member is expected to perform the full range of responsibilities in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Clinical services are a component of faculty responsibility, with or without the presence of a trainee. The candidate is expected to support the academic mission of the Department and may pursue research, quality improvement initiatives, curriculum development, and education initiatives, or other activities consistent with the faculty assignment. Faculty members are expected to teach, which may include clinical or didactic teaching and may involve medical students, residents, fellows, undergraduate and graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows. Service commitments include service at OSUWMC facilities and other clinical sites as assigned. Active participation in divisional, departmental, and college committee functions is expected. Participation in local, regional, or national professional organizations is also expected. Requirements

U.S. citizenship is required for participation in this role due to contractual agreements with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Board-eligible or board-certified in Ophthalmology by the time of appointment and eligible for licensure in the State of Ohio. MD or DO degree with completed approved residency in Ophthalmology and subspecialty fellowship training in Retina. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of Ocular Oncology. Demonstrated interest in scholarship and discovery by evidence of basic and/or clinical applied research and publications. Commitment to residents, fellows, and medical students is required.
