Job Description

NAVAR a subsidiary of Cape Fox Corporation is looking for an experienced Event Planner to join our team in Washington DC.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $80,000- $85,000.

The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, we offer a variety of benefits including company holidays, paid time off, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

  • Establishing project plan with milestones for assigned event
  • Provide weekly/bi-weekly updates to events team (location(s) researched, quotes received - prepared in a cost comparison spreadsheet)
  • Provide written recommendations, pros and cons
  • Experience using (Qualtrics, WebEx, Windows operating systems)
  • Ability to work on or lead team(s) as needed
  • Identifying venues, inspecting potential locations, determining site specifications and requirements
  • Determining room setup, developing room diagrams, coordinating logistics for staging and equipment
  • Identifying A/V equipment needs, e.g., lighting, sound, audiovisual, working with vendor to establish setup and strike schedules
  • Determining food and beverage service requirements, select menus, establish service times, duration, and breakdown
  • Assisting with the approval process for the use and scheduling of multi-purpose rooms and lunchroom
  • Coordinating talking points and other actions needed for Senior Leadership event participation
  • Assisting with other events management duties as assigned

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning
  • Must have an Associate's Degree or similar credential
  • Ability to manage time and events effectively
  • Ability to perform administrative duties such as preparing quality documents, reports and slides and coordinating briefings, conferences, teleconferences, telephone inquiries, meeting preparation, attendance and minutes
  • Must have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) experience in preparing, editing and finalizing correspondence, documents and briefings
