Senior Content Development Administrator

Basic Purpose and Objectives
- Manages scoring services scope for projects and functions as a content/subject area expert as well as a scoring service and scoring system functionality expert.
- Guides and supervises scoring directors assigned to projects as well as other Content Specialists when functioning as the lead Content Specialist.
- Manages new and/or complex projects, and may participate in inter- and intra-departmental initiatives.
- Models expected Content Specialist behavior and serves as a mentor for other Content Specialists.
Organizational Relationships
- Direction Received: Reports to and receives direction on Pearson and Scoring Services policy and procedures from the Scoring Services Content Manager.
- Direction of Others: Advises scoring directors on content- and item-level scoring and quality issues. Evaluates scoring directors and provides feedback on job performance. Manages the activities of other Content Specialists when functioning as the lead Content Specialist.
- Contacts: Works closely within and across departments as part of a cross-functional team to ensure project success and participates in departmental strategic initiatives. Maintains productive relations with external customers as required.
Overall Functions And Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the scoring project manager to complete quality management plans, quality management summaries, and other project documentation.
- Supports Project Managers, Scoring Managers, Content Managers, and Content Specialists in identifying and implementing solutions to content-related scoring issues.
- Functions as Content Specialist on multiple projects with varying schedules, scope and life cycles.
- Plans content hours for assigned projects and may advise on content hours for other projects.
- Identifies potential scoring directors from the pool of scoring supervisors and develops them for future content roles.
- Conducts interventions and coaches scoring directors as needed.
- Completes Feedback forms and provides timely feedback to scoring staff and managers.
- Ensures all required forms and documentation are completed and archived properly.
- Works with scoring directors to create online training modules and reviews training sets and annotations for quality feedback.
- Monitors quality across grades and items to ensure timely project completion and addresses issues with the Content Manager and Scoring Manager.
- Reports on the strengths and weaknesses of scoring staff performance and compiles relevant reports.
- Supports the Content Manager in preparing project budgets.
- Mentors or advises other projects’ Content Specialists and scoring directors as needed.
- Participates in additional initiatives such as scoring director training development and various cross-project activities.
- May assist with proposals, scope changes, and budget/cost estimates as needed.
- Assists leadership as a content consultant for projects or bids as required.
- Attends project status meetings and provides requested reports.
- Acts as primary customer contact for content-related communication for assigned projects.
- Ensures quality records are archived in accordance with policy and pursues cost improvements as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Content Specialist preferred.
- Experience as a Content Specialist across multiple assessment types and projects (regional and distributed) preferred.
- Background in educational measurement and knowledge of scoring systems and processes preferred.
- Experience directing regional and distributed supervisors and scoring directors.
- Excellent knowledge of scoring systems, data management, and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to coach staff on annotations, scoring decisions, and documentation.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities with the capacity to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google tools, and project management tools.
- Ability to supervise large groups of employees in various roles and maintain a confidential work environment.
- Advanced degree in education, English, mathematics, science, or language preferred; teaching experience in grades K-12 preferred.
Compensation And Benefits
Pay range for this role is $28.10 per hour. This position is not bonus eligible. Information on benefits offered is available here.
