Senior Content Development Administrator

Basic Purpose and Objectives

Manages scoring services scope for his or her projects. Functions as a content/subject area expert as well as a scoring service and scoring system functionality expert. Guides and supervises scoring directors assigned to projects as well as other Content Specialists assigned to projects when functioning as the lead Content Specialist. Manages new and/or complex projects, and may participate in inter- and intra-departmental initiatives. Models expected Content Specialist behavior and serves as a mentor for other Content Specialists.

  • Mentors or models expected Content Specialist behavior for others.

Organizational Relationships

  • Direction Received: Reports to the Scoring Services Content Manager and adheres to Pearson policies and procedures.
  • Direction of Others: Advises scoring directors on content- and item-level scoring and quality issues; evaluates performance; manages activities of other Content Specialists when leading a project.
  • Contacts: Works cross-functionally with teams (Online Scorer Training Development, Project Support, Project Management, Client Services) and participates in meetings to ensure project success. May participate in strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities. Maintains productive relations with external customers.

Overall Functions And Responsibilities

  • Works with the scoring project manager to complete quality management plans and related documentation.
  • Supports Project Managers, Scoring Managers, Content Managers, and Content Specialists in addressing content-related scoring issues.
  • Functions as Content Specialist on multiple projects with varying schedules and life cycles.
  • Plans content hours for assigned projects and may advise on planned hours for other projects.
  • Identifies and develops scoring directors for future content roles; conducts interventions and coaching as needed.
  • Completes Feedback forms and provides timely feedback to scoring directors and managers.
  • Ensures proper documentation is completed and archived for scoring decisions and training materials.
  • Guides scoring directors in completing project item evaluations and reviews them prior to submission to customers.
  • Monitors quality across grades and items; addresses quality issues and communicates plans to Content and Scoring Managers.
  • Analyzes staff performance and compiles reports; supports budgeting for projects.
  • Mentors Content Specialists and scoring directors on other projects as needed.
  • May support review of proposals and scope changes and assist in budgeting and cost estimates.
  • Attends project status meetings and serves as primary customer contact for content-related communications.
  • Ensures quality records are archived in accordance with controls and drives continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this role is $28.10. This position is not bonus eligible, and information on benefits offered is here.
