Senior Content Development Administrator

Overview

Manages scoring services scope for projects and serves as a content/subject area expert as well as a scoring service and scoring system functionality expert. Guides and supervises scoring directors and other Content Specialists, manages new and/or complex projects, and participates in inter- and intra-departmental initiatives. Models expected Content Specialist behavior and mentors other Content Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the scoring project manager to complete quality management plans, quality management summaries, and other project documentation as required.
  • Support Project Managers, Scoring Managers, Content Managers, and Content Specialists in analyzing and implementing solutions to content-related scoring issues.
  • Function as a Content Specialist on multiple projects with varying schedules, scope and life cycles.
  • Plan content hours for assigned projects and consult on planned content hours for other projects as needed.
  • Identify potential scoring directors from the pool of scoring supervisors and guide, train, and develop them for future content roles.
  • Conduct interventions and coach scoring directors as needed; complete Feedback forms and provide timely feedback to scoring directors and managers.
  • Ensure all required forms and documentation are filled out completely.
  • Work with scoring directors to create online training modules for assigned projects and review training sets and annotations with them.
  • Ensure proper documentation, sign-off, and archival of all scoring decisions and final training materials.
  • Guide scoring directors in completing project item evaluations and review them prior to submission to customers.
  • Monitor reports across grades and items to verify quality expectations are met and projects complete on time; address quality issues with Content Manager and Scoring Manager.
  • Obtain, analyze, and report information concerning the strengths and weaknesses of scoring staff performance and compile reports on assigned activities as requested.
  • Support the Content Manager in preparing project budgets and mentor or advise other projects’ Content Specialists and/or scoring directors as needed.
  • Participate in additional initiatives not tied to a specific project, such as scoring director training development and leading support groups.
  • May assist with requests for proposals and scope changes, including providing costing and text; may assist with budget/cost estimate processes.
  • Attend relevant project status meetings and act as primary customer contact for content for assigned projects; ensure quality records are archived per policy.
  • Recommend and implement cost improvements and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills (including phone skills for distributed projects and meetings).
  • Excellent writing skills, including the ability to train and coach staff to write quality annotations and scoring decisions, and to communicate effectively.
  • Strong content-specific knowledge to develop, coach, and supervise staff across projects.
  • Clear understanding of scoring concepts (e.g., frequency distribution, validity, calibration) and ability to apply to scoring situations.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office and Google tools; ability to multitask across multiple applications.
  • Ability to supervise large groups of employees in various roles; strong initiative, organizational and leadership skills; ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.
  • Experience as a Content Specialist across multiple assessment project types and settings (regional, distributed, different rubric types) preferred.
  • Background in educational measurement and knowledge of scoring systems and processes preferred.
  • Experience directing regional and distributed supervisors and scoring directors; experience with scoring systems and reports; ability to manage data and drive continuous improvement.
  • Advanced degree in education, English, mathematics, science, or language preferred.
  • Teaching experience in grades K-12 preferred.
  • Knowledge and use of project management tools and applications desired.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range for this role is $28.10 per hour. This position is not bonus eligible. Information on benefits offered is available here.
