Job Description Primary Function of Position:

The Marketing Event Manager will lead customer events held onsite at the Sunnyvale headquarters, ensuring seamless day-of execution in collaboration with executive leadership and internal partners. Events include, but not limited to, Marketing and Sales initiated customer VIP events. This role requires exceptional cross-functional communication, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of marketing event management deliverables. The onsite Event Manager must demonstrate the ability to engage confidently and professionally with executives, customers, and key stakeholders. The Marketing Event Manager will drive collaboration across internal departments, key opinion leaders, associations, and external marketing agencies. Core responsibilities include maintaining and updating project plans, fostering alignment between functional groups, identifying risks and mitigation strategies, and delivering best-in-class event management practices.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead planning and execution of marketing events at the Sunnyvale headquarters, serving as the primary onsite point of contact.

Provide day-of event management support for commercial events in Sunnyvale, including executive coordination, customer engagement, venue readiness, and real-time issue resolution.

Partner with the US Marketing team to build and maintain the annual marketing event plan for on-campus Sunnyvale events and any assigned team(s).

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategic marketing plans, define event requirements, and establish project scope.

Identify, monitor, and communicate event-related risks, scope changes, and contingencies; facilitate timely solutions with stakeholders.

Manage event planning meetings, documentation, and assignments, creating and leveraging tracking tools as needed.

Define roles and responsibilities of internal teams, leadership, and third-party partners for each project.

Communicate project status, decisions, and risks effectively, tailoring updates for different audiences, including key executives and executive support teams.

Oversee collaboration with agencies and production partners; manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables.

Direct logistics for assigned events, including space assignments, food and beverage, AV/IT, and travel.

Coordinate auxiliary aligned with major events.

Support on-site execution at events, including customer relations, space preparation, AV, and catering coordination.

Manage event metrics, provide post-event reporting and actionable insights.

Contribute to event strategy by applying a customer-first mindset, understanding the customer journey, and sharing recommendations for continuous improvement.

Demonstrate strong decision-making, strategic thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and multitasking capabilities.

Qualifications Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or administration, or equivalent experience

Minimum of 8 years' experience in event management

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote)

Excellent organizational and project management skills

Strong executive presence and ability to interact confidently with senior leadership and customers in high-visibility settings

Proven ability to manage onsite event execution with professionalism, adaptability, and poise under pressure

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with minimal supervision

Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals

Vendor negotiation and management experience

Ability to analyze data and deliver key insights

Willingness to travel up to 30% annually and work flexible hours, including weekends

Ability to perform manual tasks and lift up to 40 lbs

Healthcare industry experience preferred, but not required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. The target base compensation ranges are listed.

Base Compensation Range Region 1:

$131,200 USD - $188,800 USD

Base Compensation Range Region 2:

$111,500 USD - $160,500 USD
