Production Manager

Rizzoli International Publications Inc., a well-known and established NY based illustrated book publisher of art, lifestyle, interiors, photography, architecture, is seeking a freelance Production Manager with circa 5 years of experience in realizing high quality illustrated books. Great opportunity for a production professional ready to be more involved in the creative book making process from manuscript to bound book.

• Work with the director in compiling and maintaining schedules and estimates for a number of front list titles.
• Liaison with various creative teams (one for each title) of freelance designers, editors and authors and external overseas prepress and manufacturing operations.
• Work closely with all creative/technical parties in routing materials and seeing approval of materials color proofs and all binding elements.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to oversee the printing process overseas.
• Report status of each book in weekly meetings with production team.

Skills:

• Illustrated book publishing experience (4/color offset and bookbinding knowledge)

Salary range: $45-$47 dollars per hour. 

Location: Remote with access to main shared office in New York, NY.
