Senior Content Development Administrator Overview

This role manages scoring services scope for projects, serves as a content/subject area expert and a scoring system functionality expert, and guides and mentors scoring directors and Content Specialists on assigned projects.

Responsibilities

Manage scoring services scope for assigned projects.

Function as a content/subject area expert and as a scoring system functionality expert.

Guide and supervise scoring directors and Content Specialists on projects when serving as the lead Content Specialist.

Manage new and/or complex projects and participate in inter- and intra-departmental initiatives.

Model expected Content Specialist behavior and mentor other Content Specialists.

Plan content hours for assigned projects and consult on planned hours for other projects as needed.

Identify potential scoring directors and develop them for future content roles; conduct interventions and coaching as needed.

Complete Feedback forms, ensure documentation is filled out, and create online training modules for projects.

Review training sets and annotations, provide feedback to scoring directors, and ensure proper archival of decisions and training materials.

Guide scoring directors in completing project item evaluations and review them prior to submission to customers.

Monitor quality and timely completion of projects; address quality issues and communicate plans to Content Manager and Scoring Manager.

Analyze and report on strengths and weaknesses of scoring staff performance; compile activity reports as requested.

Support Content Manager with project budgets and mentor other projects’ Content Specialists and scoring directors as needed.

Lead or participate in additional initiatives such as training development and cross-project support groups.

Assist with review of RFPs/scope changes and provide input on costing and text as needed.

Assist leadership as a content consultant for new bids or projects.

Attend project status meetings and compile reports; act as primary customer contact for content-related communications.

Ensure quality records are archived according to policy and recommend cost improvements.

Perform other duties as assigned and support scoring director activities as necessary.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree.

Required: Excellent internal and external customer service skills and ability to foster productive working relationships.

Required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (including phone skills for distributed projects and meetings).

Required: Excellent writing skills, including ability to train and coach staff on annotations, scoring decisions, and related documentation; ability to teach effective communication.

Required: Strong content-specific knowledge; ability to develop, coach, and supervise content staff across projects.

Required: Clear understanding of scoring concepts (e.g., frequency distribution, validity, calibration) and ability to apply to scoring situations.

Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google tools, and ability to manage multiple applications.

Required: Ability to supervise large groups across roles; strong initiative and organizational/leadership skills; ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.

Required: Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.

Preferred: Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Content Specialist; experience across multiple assessment projects; knowledge of educational measurement and scoring systems; experience directing regional and distributed teams.

Preferred: Advanced degree in education, English, mathematics, science, or language; teaching experience in grades K-12; knowledge of project management tools.

Basic Information

Pay range: $28.10 per hour (not bonus eligible).

Workplace: Remote.
