We’re looking for an all-star Content Writer to join our growing team as the owner of our inbound marketing initiatives. Your goal will be to drive qualified traffic, leads, and sales by establishing our company as the #1 trusted authority in the pool industry. Our content manager must have a passion for writing and storytelling with a journalist’s mindset, and a focus on content performance, content management, and analytics.

Location: Phoenix, AZ. Compensation: $80,000 – $115,000. Employment type: Full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Own the content strategy outlined in Marcus Sheridan’s They Ask, You Answer that enables consistent publication of content that drives revenue and sales.
  • Publish at least three new written pieces of content per week.
  • Interview internal subject matter experts for content.
  • Edit, proofread and improve writers’ posts.
  • Direct company email marketing efforts, including newsletters and automated workflows.
  • Use AI tools to optimize efficiency for content creation, including generating and enhancing content, evaluating performance, and streamlining distribution.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify content topics and develop an editorial calendar.
  • Rely on content analytics and reporting to inform decisions.
  • Lead search engine optimization (SEO) efforts for website and content.
  • Produce premium content (e.g., ebooks, pillar pages, and other offers) used to convert the audience.
  • Distribute content via social media for community engagement and long-term promotion.
  • Engage in professional development and continued education in relevant areas (e.g., content technology, HubSpot certifications, writing proficiency).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A true passion for writing and impeccable writing/editing skills with strong command of English.
  • Understanding of editorial style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago Manual of Style).
  • Ability to articulate the business goal behind content creation.
  • Experience with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Llama) and how AI supports marketing and content targeting.
  • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines.
  • Experience with HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEMrush.
  • Strong interviewing, listening, data-informed decision-making, and feedback skills; team-oriented mindset.
  • Bonus: HubSpot experience, print or broadcast journalism background.
