Our client, a leader in the real estate and home-building industry, is seeking a Residential Design Manager to lead the preparation, updating, and maintenance of architectural plans and documents. Based on-site in Dallas, Texas, this role offers a dynamic opportunity to shape the architectural library for residential homes, sales offices, and model complexes while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed residential plans, including floor plans, roof plans, elevations, sections, and electrical layouts.
- Supervise design phases with multiple departments to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Maintain a log of plan changes, communicate updates with internal teams and consultants, and ensure smooth coordination.
- Compile and submit design review packages and standard plans per community and local requirements.
- Research and summarize building codes, zoning, and technical documents to streamline architectural submittals.
- Ensure design compliance with municipal codes and specifications.
- Collaborate with Architectural Review Committees, Structural Engineers, and other external teams for effective project execution.
- Perform quality control reviews of architectural documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Provide guidance to builders on design specifications and corrections.
- Supervise and manage the daily activities of a Senior CAD Drafter.
Must-Have Skills:
- Proven proficiency in AutoCAD and Photoshop.
- 3+ years of experience in drafting, architecture, or structural engineering.
- Strong knowledge of residential production home building.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, drafting, or a related field.
- Familiarity with zoning regulations and municipal codes in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
- Experience managing and mentoring team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Prior experience with lot fit analysis and final plat reviews.
