Business Development Manager | Homebuilding + Residential Development

Location: Irving, TX | On-site | Full-Time

Were seeking a hands-on, experienced Residential Design Manager to join a growing homebuilding company. This role is perfect for someone who has developed residential plans from the ground up and can lead them through schematic, design development, and construction document phases while collaborating with multiple departments.

What Youll Do:

• Create and manage detailed residential plans using AutoCAD, including floor plans, elevations, roof plans, sections, architectural details, and electrical layouts.
• Lead plans from concept to final approval, ensuring design meets production and municipal requirements.
• Supervise design phases and coordinate with Sales, Construction, Purchasing, and Land Development teams.
• Maintain an architectural library and track plan changes, communicating updates clearly to field staff, sales teams, and consultants.
• Plot models, offices, and homes on lots accurately, following lot fit analysis, plats, and municipal restrictions.
• Conduct quality control reviews and provide guidance to builders on design specifications.
• Mentor and manage a Senior CAD Drafter, fostering high performance and efficiency.

What You Bring:

• Proven experience developing residential plans from the ground up for a homebuilder.
• 3+ years in residential drafting, architectural design, or structural engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Photoshop or similar design software.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating cross-functionally.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, and production home requirements.
