Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr
About the Company Our client, a fast-growing NYC-based technology company, is helping brands and businesses connect with their audiences in smarter, privacy-compliant ways. With millions of users and rapid enterprise adoption, they are scaling quickly and seeking their second in-house legal hire.
Job Overview We’re looking for a Commercial Counsel to join as the company’s second in-house legal hire. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you’ll be a key partner to the business, helping to shape and scale the legal framework as we continue rapid growth. You’ll partner closely with the enterprise sales/partnerships team and lead significant outbound commercial contracting across from a well-known established client base, drafting and negotiating complex agreements, providing pragmatic guidance across teams, and play a critical role in managing risk while supporting growth.
Key Responsibilities
Report to the General Counsel and collaborate across sales, product, people, finance, and operations teams.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, partnership, vendor, and enterprise customer contracts.
Provide practical, solutions-oriented advice that balances business speed with risk management.
Advise on data privacy, consumer protection, and intellectual property issues.
Support the development and refinement of legal processes and playbooks as the company scales.
Stay on top of evolving regulations, privacy frameworks, and industry trends relevant to SaaS and digital marketing.
About You
4+ years of experience at a top law firm and/or in-house (SaaS or tech strongly preferred).
Solid background in commercial contracting and SaaS transactions.
Familiarity with evolving privacy and data security regulations is a plus.
Strong communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school; licensed to practice in at least one U.S. state.
