Managing Director at Whistler Partners | Legal Matchmaker at the Intersection of Tech, Venture, Media & Entertainment
Role description
Join a capital markets & corporate team that blends institutional dealmaking with a boutique’s flexibility. You’ll advise on complex transactions across private equity, M&A, venture capital, and commercial deals—gaining real client access, cross-office responsibility, and the runway to grow into a lead advisor. Expect to get in the weeds of negotiations, lead calls with founders and investors, and draft the documents that move markets—without getting lost in a mega-firm hierarchy.
Why this role?
Own meaningful pieces of diverse transactions with direct partner and client access. You’ll run points on deal docs, diligence, and negotiations while collaborating across offices on private equity, M&A, venture, and strategic JV matters. Clients span media, tech, life sciences, and consumer goods—covering growth capital, strategic acquisitions, secondaries, and commercial work. The culture is high-performing without ego: training is prioritized, client contact is encouraged, and responsibility scales as you earn it.
Top Requirements
- 3–4 years at a law firm with experience in M&A, private equity, VC, or joint ventures
- Excellent drafting skills and sharp commercial instincts
- Comfort managing multiple deals and communicating with clients/counterparties
- Highly organized, proactive, and team-first
- Admitted in New York
About Whistler Partners
Matchmakers, Not Headhunters
Whistler Partners is a boutique matchmaking firm focused on counseling the best and the brightest attorneys over the course of their careers. We believe that the right move comes from working closely with talent to curate their long-term career paths. When it comes to career advice, what matters is not the size of the agency but the strength of your individual recruiter.
We readily admit that we are elite and only work with the best – after all, a little elitism is okay when it comes to your career. Employers love us because we are picky about whom we represent, and attorneys love us because we get them their dream jobs.
