What We’re Looking For We’re seeking a Senior User Researcher to define ongoing strategic opportunities for our UGC products, with an emphasis on generative and exploratory research. Your vision, grounded in deep user understanding, will chart the course for future innovation. What You Will Do Identify the questions to answer to move strategy and execution forward. Your insights will inform company strategy, product experiences, and long-term roadmaps. Advocate for and develop the strategic direction of the UGC brands, acting as a thought leader with brand and cross-functional leadership. Design, scope, and run user research to learn latent and unmet needs of Scribd and Slideshare users through creative research (generative, iterative, evaluative). Support multiple product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders with a wide range of research needs, from large and generative to small and tactical. Make research findings actionable through crafted insights, decks, stories, videos, and testimonials; foster engagement and shared knowledge to drive informed decisions. Build and implement innovative user research processes to meet product delivery goals. Leverage company-provisioned AI tools to maximize efficiencies, with appropriate human oversight for critical research impact.
About You 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and conducting market/product/design research with demonstrable impact on roadmaps and outcomes. Ability to navigate ambiguous opportunities to extract key information and define a clear path forward. Knowledge of qualitative UX research approaches and methodologies, plus quantitative experience for surveys at scale. BA/BS+ in Psychology, Social Science or related field, or equivalent experience. Proven ability to use human-centered insights to answer business questions. Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead cross-functional brainstorming and strategic partnerships. Ability to own a slice of the research roadmap and manage shifting priorities. Strong presentation skills with a creative storytelling style. Demonstrated ability to work quickly and handle multiple studies concurrently. Compensation: At Scribd, base pay is part of total compensation and varies by location. Salary ranges are provided for different regions, with California, US outside California, and Canada ranges listed, and adjustments may apply for different levels.
