Location: Bloomfield Hills, MI (onsite at least 3 days per week Tues/Wed/Thurs)
Pay rate: $25-35/hr
Eventual Salary: $60-70K+ DOE

One of our non-profit clients is looking for a Graphic Designer / Art Director to join their team for an ongoing freelance role with the potential for contract-to-hire. This Graphic Designer will be part of the in-house marketing team and report to the Director of Marketing Operations, also working closely with the Traffic Manager, marketing staff, and internal stakeholders to deliver creative assets that advance the non-profit’s mission and marketing communications.

The Graphic Designer should be comfortable managing a high volume of projects with the support of a strong marketing team, proactively chasing down the content and approvals needed to keep work moving, and able to shift gears quickly when priorities change.

Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of agency or in-house experience as a Graphic Designer, Art Director, or Production Designer
  • BA degree in graphic design, art, or relevant field
  • Fully proficient with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and positive attitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to partner with staff at all levels and external vendors
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Appreciation for organization’s mission and role in the community

Job Responsibilities

  • Design creative materials for both print and digital platforms, aligned with the organization’s brand and campaign goals
  • Adapt and refine existing design concepts for a variety of channels (flyers, social, email, event collateral, reports, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Traffic Manager, marketing staff, and internal stakeholders to review, modify, and finalize designs
  • Present design concepts for feedback and implement revisions as needed
  • Coordinate with external vendors (printers, mail houses) to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Use project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, OneDrive, Outlook, SmugMug) to track progress and meet deadlines
