Job Description
Only qualified Accessories Designer candidates located near the Manhattan, NY area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence
Our client is the world\'s largest intimates\' and accessories specialty retailer offering a wide assortment of modern, fashion-inspired collections including signature bras, panties, lingerie, casual sleepwear, swim and athleisure, as well as award-winning prestige fragrances and body care and accessories.
Required Education
- Bachelor\'s degree in Design or equivalent experience
Required Skills & Abilities
- 5+ years of design experience in a comparable retail environment
- Accessories design experience
- Exceptional talent with a commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling/performance
- Demonstrated ability to create original design sketches and successful product lines
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Collaborative partner with a team-oriented approach and a customer service philosophy
- Champion for change and able to react with speed and agility
- Highly motivated, passionate, results-oriented
- Displays flexibility and is a creative problem solver
- Solid communication and presentation skills
- Moderate domestic and minimal international travel
- Experience with Centric is a plus
Responsibilities
- Create brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction/business strategy
- Develop product with a focus on style, functionality and material execution
- Deliver product designs with flawless execution; achieving goals with speed, agility and acute attention to detail
- Execute design sketches/prototypes and provide specifications
- Adapt designs based on feedback, incorporating for finalization
- Confidently present designs to internal leader/team as well as key cross-functional partners; discuss key trends and market awareness in both digital deck format as well as in person product reviews
- Implement processes to understand/anticipate the needs of the customer in order to exceed customer expectations and readily react to their needs
- Identify and recommend resources in sourcing new ideas, both internally and externally, and conduct ongoing competitor research/trend analysis
- Collaborate and communicate with key partners throughout the design process including Merchandising and Product Development; Build/maintain collaborative and effective relationships
- Anticipate/solve potential issues and provide conflict resolution
- Manage, inspire and develop junior design talent
- Assess practices to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and speed in delivery
- Ensure deliverables meet budget and time commitments without compromising design excellence
