Responsibilities

• Teach Visual Design for the Web within the Graphic & Interactive Design Program. This 4-hour course is typically taken by students during the third semester, covering concepts and techniques of art making for the web and interactive media on screen-based devices. Students will create original websites and screen-based content with attention to design fundamentals such as color, typography, imagery, and composition.
• Provide individual and group critiques, offering constructive feedback to enhance the design process and student skill development.
• Remain current on trends in contemporary graphic design, pedagogy, and related industry practices as they pertain to teaching graphic design at the college level.
• Collaborate with Arts & Design colleagues to advance the program, including participation in exhibitions and related events.
• Provide academic advisement and support to students, including portfolio development, transfer opportunities, exhibition opportunities, and career guidance.

Qualifications

• Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in a related field or equivalent professional experience required.
• Minimum of two years of college-level teaching experience with proven effectiveness and student engagement.
• Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign; experience with web-focused tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, Framer, and collaborative platforms like ClickUp, etc.
• Demonstrated expertise in graphic design, especially web-based design solutions, with a strong portfolio.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to connect with a diverse student population.
• Commitment to teaching excellence and student success.
