Job Title: Visual Inspector
Job Description
The Visual Inspector is a crucial part of the quality department, tasked with identifying and solving defects, specifically paint scratches and dents, occurring during the assembly and manufacturing process. The objective is to pinpoint where these defects happen and devise methods to prevent them. This role involves documenting the location of defects and applying protective plastic film to parts of the truck body to minimize issues. While the role requires a high degree of independent work, it also involves regular communication with multiple departments.
Responsibilities

Identify and document defects such as paint scratches and dents throughout the assembly and manufacturing process.

Apply plastic film to parts of the truck body to prevent defects.

Work independently while maintaining effective communication with various departments.

Collaborate with the quality department and engineers to report findings.
Essential Skills

6+ months of experience in a manufacturing environment.

High attention to detail with a focus on identifying visual damage, scratches, and dings.

Ability to work comfortably at heights, including inspecting from the top of trucks while harnessed.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting defects and discussing solutions with different departments.

Experience with computer operations and detailing.

Work Environment
The work environment is a very large, clean, and safety-conscious facility. The role may require the use of a flashlight to better view scratches or dents. Working hours are 6am-2pm Monday through Friday, 2-midnight Monday through Thursday, or 2-10 Monday through Friday. The position primarily involves independent work but includes reporting to the quality department and collaborating closely with engineers.

This is a Contract position based out of Appleton, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.61 - $22.77/hr.
