Overview
AECOM is seeking a Graphic Designer to assist our Design and Consulting Services Marketing Group. This will be a hybrid position including a combination of remote and in-office work, that can be based in, but not limited to: Sacramento, CA; Orange, CA; Denver, CO.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Develop visually engaging multi-page documents (e.g., proposals, reports, and presentations) with clear hierarchy, layout, and storytelling. Create supporting visuals such as infographics, diagrams, and graphics that enhance understanding and engagement.
- Collaboration & Communication: Partner with writers, marketers, and other designers to bring ideas to life. Refine design concepts based on feedback from team members, stakeholders, and clients.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all design work adheres to AECOM brand standards, maintains a cohesive visual language, and follows best practices in file organization across large, collaborative teams.
- Digital & Print Production: Prepare final design files for both print and digital distribution, ensuring technical accuracy and visual quality.
- Presentation Design: Design and format PowerPoint presentations and related visual materials for internal and external audiences.
- Photo Editing: Perform basic image editing and enhancement; familiarity with AI-powered editing tools.
- Project Management: Manage multiple design projects with competing deadlines while delivering high-quality work on time.
- Template Creation and Maintenance: Develop and manage branded templates (Word, PowerPoint, InDesign) for proposals, resumes, and marketing materials.
- Knowledge Management: Maintain organized file systems and design archives for easy access and reuse across proposals and projects.
- Proposal Support: Assist pursuit teams with layout and design of RFP responses, SOQs (Statements of Qualifications), and interview presentations under tight deadlines.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct design reviews for accuracy, consistency, and polish before materials are finalized and submitted.
- Design Trend Research: Stay current with design trends and tools to continuously improve AECOM’s visual communications.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Coordinate with engineers, planners, and project managers to interpret technical content into digestible visual formats.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree + 4 years of relevant Graphic Design experience or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams), and experience with SharePoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in graphic design, visual communication, or related field.
- Familiarity with AI-powered editing tools is a plus.
- Strong layout, typography, and information design skills—especially for long-form or technical documents.
- Experience designing for both print and digital applications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to take creative direction, incorporate feedback, and contribute fresh ideas.
- Familiarity with the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
- Expertise in long-format documents a bonus.
