Senior UI/UX Designer role at Planet Pharma. The position focuses on concepting and delivering user interface design solutions for medical devices, with emphasis on safety, usability, and adherence to brand guidelines. Responsibilities
Define the Digital User Interface and implement the Surgical Operating Unit’s Design system for complex medical devices within the product portfolio. Participate in research activities to identify user needs and translate findings into design solutions. Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Research & Technology teams to shape product features and functionality. Work with agile teams to collaborate with software engineers, copywriters, and UX designers. Lead concept definition for new products and platforms using systems thinking and user-centered design methodologies. Conceptualize and visualize product designs and physical interactions using Figma; create digital prototypes in Figma or Principal. Develop wireframes, prototypes, style guides, and user flows; communicate interaction ideas using Figma, Miro, and PowerPoint. Prepare detailed final design documentation and support software engineering handoffs and design requirements in shared platforms (Jama, Jira, etc.). Develop ideas based on design thinking, user research, heuristic principles, and accessibility standards. Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in UX Design or related design field, with relevant experience or equivalent certificate program. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a UX Design role; 2 years’ experience in medical device or related industry preferred; 2 years demonstrated experience as a User Experience lead for new product development. Experience in all phases of the product development process—from research to concept development, front-end development, prototyping, testing with users, and translating results into design. Strong ability to communicate and present design concepts clearly to cross-functional teams; comfortable working in an Agile environment. Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, and user flows; familiar with design tools such as Figma, Principal, and Miro. Experience supporting and guiding product labeling and creating instructional content (e.g., user manuals, IFUs, quick reference guides). Understanding of quality regulations (21 CFR Part 820.30), human factors/usability engineering standards (IEC 62366-1, ANSI HE75), risk management (ISO 14971), and FDA guidance (plus familiarity is a bonus). Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication; strong creative, analytical, problem-solving, technical judgment, and leadership skills. Ability to visually communicate design vision and research needs; effective collaboration with R&D, Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Principal, and Miro; basic understanding of front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript) is a plus.
